Flying a drone near Wildfire: If You Fly, Firefighters Can’t

Wildfire

Sommer is a traditional time for wildfires and drones used by firefighters can be extremely helpful in providing first-responders crews with real-time information regarding the disaster.

But unauthorized drone flights provided by third-party persons can be extremely dangerous for firefighters, aviation pilots, and aircrafts involved in fire extinguishing.

That is why we want to remind you that interfering with wildfire operations is a federal crime with civil penalties up to $20 000.
